Isles of Scilly

Basking in a micro climate caused by the gulf stream, the white sparkling sands and crystal clear waters create a paradise which is a closer cruising destination than you may think. With over a dozen anchorages in the archipelago to choose from the Scilly Isles is a haven of tranquillity to cruise in.

Some of our favourite islands, anchorages and visitor moorings can be found in New Grimsby Sound, lying between Tresco & Bryher, The Cove at St Agnes, with a visit to the Turks Head to wet the whistle. St Martins Bay on the east of the Island or Tean Sound on the west, offer great visitor moorings. St Marys’ Hugh Town, the capital of the Scillies is ideal for lunch at the Mermaid then a spot of shopping and victualling.

Padstow & Lundy Island are on route from Neyland to the Scillies and are a great place to stop at on your cruise. The light house and Marisco Pub on Lundy and the Fish & Chips in Padstow are worth dropping anchor for.

Itinerary

First Evening

Meet your skipper and fellow crew members at Neyland Marina. Over the crews first supper together in the Marina Bar your Skipper will explain the weather forecast and tidal conditions for the days ahead and discuss the Adventure Cruise itinerary. Before jumping into sleeping bags for a good nights rest, you may wish to explore the marina facilities.

First Day & onwards

Exact departure times from the Marina will vary according to weather and tidal conditions, but once under sail we will journey down to the mouth of the Cleddau Estuary and out into the Celtic Sea. After the exhilarating overnight passage we arrive amongst the wonderful Isles of Scilly and take time to explore ashore. The islands each have a different character and navigation between them provide an excellent chance to brush up on your pilotage skills.

After several days exploring the islands by sea and shore we make the return journey. We make a stop over at either Padstow an ancient, busy fishing port with picturesque cottages nestling in the narrow streets leading down to the harbour and quays or Lundy a peaceful nature reserve located off the North Devon coast, a stunning location for our last stop before heading home to Neyland Marina.

Please be aware that itineraries may be revised due to weather conditions at time of Adventure Cruise.
