First Evening

Meet your skipper and fellow crew members at Neyland Marina. Over the crews first supper together in the Marina Bar your Skipper will explain the weather forecast and tidal conditions for the days ahead and discuss the Adventure Cruise itinerary. Before jumping into sleeping bags for a good nights rest, you may wish to explore the marina facilities.

First Day & onwards

Exact departure times from the Marina will vary according to weather and tidal conditions, but once under sail we will journey down to the mouth of the Cleddau Estuary and out into the Celtic Sea. Either a full days sailing or an exhilarating overnight passage will position us to explore the Southern Emerald Isle.

Kilmore Quay, our nearest landfall lies inside the Saltee Islands. Being on the south eastern corner of Ireland, we have often seen Pilot or Minky whales on their migratory route north. Thatched roof cottages are dotted throughout the village. A group of seals occupy the harbour, waiting to be fed by the fishermen. Further west is Cork, the home of Irish Yachting and Kinsale with its gastronomic delights. We also explore several delightful, quiet anchorages such as Ballycotton, Oyster Haven and Castletownsend, giving a varied and exciting experience to remember for years to come.

Please be aware that itineraries may be revised due to weather conditions at time of Adventure Cruise.

DATES: Emerald Isle Kinsale Challenge 21st September 2018.
